So why then is the failure rate so high in an affiliate marketing business? After all, this is a business that is supposed to be simple and flexible. What you do not want to do is overload or overwhelm your customers or subscribers to your webpage with a lot of products or sales copy. Keep things clean and simple.

If you are a newbie affiliate internet marketer, when creating your traffic strategy you should choose three free traffic methods and one paid traffic method to implement and focus on. Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is one of the most effective paid methods. However, do not rely on just PPC or one traffic method for your only source of traffic.

Basic Affiliate Marketing Mistake #3: Promoting Irrelevant Affiliate Programs

Do not recommend personal development products on a website about cats. Your visitors are not interested in personal development. They are looking for information about cats. This may seem obvious, but so many people make this same mistake.

Basic Affiliate Marketing Mistake #4: Promoting Too Many Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs are usually free to join. It is simple to sign up for a lot of similar programs. However, super affiliate marketers do not promote 10 personal development or 15 internet mentoring companies.

It is very easy for affiliate online marketers to make this mistake. Leave all the selling to the merchant. Your job is to get as many targeted visitors to your website as possible. Mention, rather than sell the product that solves a related problem. By doing so, the chances will be higher for targeted visitors to click on your affiliate link and purchase the product.
